In December I had the opportunity to express the interests, concerns and desires of XiMED to the Scripps Health Board at their Board Retreat. Proposed healthcare legislation, the alignment and cooperation between hospitals and physicians and the vast array of other challenges were discussed. They need us as much as we need them and vice versa (redundancy for emphasis!).

We have embarked on projects that demonstrate this, including the very successful hospitalist program (which has proven to be a financial success to both parties and a benefit to patients) and have reignited plans for a second XiMED building, Ximed 2. These plans were on hold due to the frozen landscape of real estate lending over the past year, but a thaw is being seen on that landscape...
